There is a Sunrise Breakfast 7:00am - 10:30am, snacks 11:30am - 3:00pm, Afternoon Tea 3:00 - 4:30, Twilight Offering 5:00pm - 7:00pm and Evening Indulgences 8:00pm - 10:00pm. Breakfast and Twilight Offering rotate to different foods everyday. There's a menu for each day of the week. Our video on YouTube has all of the lists. You can get beer, wine and signature beverages, which include mimosas and sangria, any time of the day by simply asking a cast member. Wine is out for self-serve during the Twilight Offering only. Other alcoholic beverages are out for self-serve during the Evening Indulgence. Be prepared to have proper ID on you at all times when enjoying their alcoholic beverages. The chef prepares appetizers during Twilight Offering to the left of the large television. I wish I could've fit her in my pocket and brought her home with me. The food was unbelievable! During the day, we enjoyed an educational speaker from South Africa about animals in South Africa, tours, conservations, etc. Don't be alarmed when mousekeeping knocks on your door in the evening. We were offered a turn-down service, which was a very nice touch to the whole experience.
The cast members are incredibly attentive, very nice and constantly moving, refreshing, taking plates, etc. Every time I turned around to put a plate on the shelf above the trash can, plates that were just placed there by others were already gone. I swear it was Disney magic! I never once saw any of the cast members clear the area. Enjoy a Disney movie while you're there. People of all ages were enjoying their time there. Some were playing cards, too!
In my opinion, the food was more than enough to fill us up without having to go to a restaurant. We prefer to not have leftovers or eat too much so picking at the food whenever we wanted was perfect for us. It saved us a lot of money, but these rooms come at a hefty point price. There are only 10 rooms. Five of them are studios and the other 5 are one bedroom villas. If someone is lucky enough to snag a two-bedroom, that takes away a studio and a one bedroom, which is commonly called a lock-off. That leaves you with 8 rooms to try and secure. It would be great to plan a stay here, but be sure to have a back-up plan, because if Animal Kingdom is not your home resort, the odds of you getting one of these rooms is not good.
What I have learned by this recent stay is that I don't think I would want to stay here for more than 2 nights. It's great to stay here and take advantage of the amenities, but if you plan on being in the parks all day/night, you're wasting your points by staying here. You do not have to wait until checkin time or for your room to be ready in order to gain access and enjoy the food and beverages. Simply go to checkin in the lobby, see if your room is ready and request access or the checkin cast member may simply tell you that you have access, which is how I found out. In fact, because you have reservations, I bet you can go directly to the elevator to gain access. I am not sure about that, though. I did not try that. I will next time and report back here.
In summary, we really liked it. It's a hop, skip and a jump to your room to go to your bathroom in your room, walk out of your room to grab a snack or something to drink and it's a great way to kick back, relax and enjoy the resort. Next time, I think I will try to get the last couple of days so we can run, run, run around the parks for the first few days and then have relaxing down-time on the concierge level for a couple days so I'm rested before flying home.
